“What is Your Story?” 2017 State Reflections Winners Announced

The artwork for the 2017 Reflections program was spectacular! Congratulations to all of the students whose entries were advanced to the state round and our sincere appreciation to all of the PTA volunteers that made it possible.

We are proud to announce those students that received first through Honorable Mention placing during the state round. They will be receiving an invitation to the annual Missouri PTA Reflections Student Showcase on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at the Stoney Creek Hotel and Conference Center in Columbia.
First place entries in every age division and category have advanced to the National PTA for consideration at that level of judging. We are anxiously awaiting the names of national award recipients. These will be announced the first week in May and posted here on our website.

Action for Healthy Kids (AFHK) Game On Grant

National PTA has partnered with Action for Healthy Kids (AFHK) on their Game On Grant, which is available to parent organizations in select states (yours is one of them).  More information and the application can be found at: http://www.actionforhealthykids.org/tools-for-schools/apply-for-grants.  National PTA is finalizing the contract and promotional information will be forthcoming.

 

The deadline will be April 7th.

Helping Kids and Teens Who Have OCD

Working with kids and teens who have OCD can be both challenging and rewarding for clinicians. Join Dr. Elspeth Bell in exploring adaptations of traditional CBT techniques specifically focused for working with these clients. Elements addressed include approached for engaging the kids and teens (and their parents) in the treatment process, the use of creative E/RP, and the inclusion of family in the treatment process.
