College Acceptance: What if you are rejected from your dream school?

It is officially Spring!  Seniors are checking their emails and mailboxes daily.  They are waiting for a very special envelope.  It’s the one that contains the acceptance letter from their first choice of colleges.

Is your house on pins & needles?  Mine is!  As a parent, I am in the seat right next to my child on the roller coaster of emotions.   The waiting is almost unbearable!  The fear of rejection and the uncertainty about what to do next is heart breaking.   I hate the “what if” game!

About Parenting has some great information about how to help your child deal with the rejection, finding other options and what to do now if he/she is having second thoughts about their choice or post-secondary plan.
