National PTA School of Excellence Program – Open Enrollment

Dear PTA Leaders,

Enrollment for the 2018-2019 National PTA School of Excellence program year is now open at PTA.org/Excellence! As you know, the National PTA School of Excellence program supports and celebrates partnerships between PTAs and schools to enrich the educational experience and overall well-being of all students. By enrolling in this program, PTAs are making a yearlong commitment to identify and implement an action plan for school improvement based on PTA’s National Standards for Family-School Partnerships.

We appreciate your support in spreading this news to your network by using the promotional tools found on the State Excellence Library—including our new social media graphics! Please visit PTA.org/StateExcellenceLibrary for resources to recruit, support and celebrate PTAs throughout the School of Excellence program.

Thank you for your continued dedication and support.

Sincerely,

Amy Weinberg I Manager, Programs & Partnerships

Gun Violence Awareness Day – 6/1/18

This Friday, 6/1, is Gun Violence Awareness Day.  National PTA is a partner in Everytown for Gun Safety’s Wear Orange Weekend, a weekend where people all over the country will show their support for gun violence prevention both online and at community events.  Here’s their link: https://wearorange.org/about/

Take a picture of yourself in your orange and post on social media using the hashtags #PTAProud #Enough and #EndGunViolence.  Wouldn’t it be cool to see your councils and locals getting involved as well?

I’ve been trying to find some different resources for you.  I have compiled some in this email.

For those of you that have held your conventions – here’s a debrief exercise to use if you haven’t done so already

Thank  you for all that you do for children, families and educators in  your state and nationally.
