Reflections Chair – Doty Hoffman

Your Name:  Doty Hoffman

MoPTA Board of Managers Position:  Reflections Chair

Years Involved in Board of Managers:  Working on year 2

What does your position do?:  Each state PTA participates in the National PTA Reflections program, I help educate local units about the program and facilitate the contest at the state level.

Unit/Council, Region & Years Involved:  Shoal Creek PTA, Liberty Council, Pony Express Region, going on 6 years now (since my eldest daughter started Kindergarten)

Why are you involved in PTA?:  I became involved in PTA because I wanted to with all my being be the voice for kiddos who don’t typically have one. I learned a long time ago that involvement in PTA is not just for my kiddo, but who they read with in the classroom, play with on the playground and sit next to at the lunch table. PTA is an association that for a very long time has prioritized the needs of kids in our schools. I have always been excited to rally around those who will shape the future and embrace their importance.

Food/Drink:  Gucamole!/QT Unsweetened Iced Tea (No Ice)

Season:  SUMMER!

Entertainment (Book, Movie, TV, Band, Music):  I’m a huge FRIENDS addict (thank you, Netflix!), I love the Van Morrison, Vance Joy and Disney Soundtrack (I am a mom of 4) channels on Pandora, Little Miss Sunshine is my favorite movie because I think we all have a little Olive inside of us!

Activities/Hobbies:  I love taking pictures, telling cheesy jokes and going on adventures!

Quote:  I was asked years ago to describe my life in just six words, “Never perfect, but loving every minute!”

More about you:

Healthy Living Tip:  Do what you can, when you can! Every little bit helps!

What makes you stand out?:  I try to look at the bright side!

What are you learning this year?:  The folks involved in state PTA are inspiring and I hope to grow up to be them one day!

What is a goal you have this year?:  I can’t wait to see what state Reflections holds this year. Student artists have such aspirations and can teach us all to believe in something really great!

What is a proud accomplishment?:  My family. I think it’s pretty cool my awesome husband and I have kept these kiddos up and running all this time!

Something interesting you’ve done this year:  I love international missions, I recently visited Honduras in June!
