OUTSTANDING MEMBERSHIP CAMPAIGN GRANT

T.E.A.M. was the membership theme of this year’s winning unit of the 2009-2010 Outstanding Membership Campaign Grant, Southern Boone County PTA.

This school’s leadership decided to make a concerted effort to increase their membership by promoting Together Everyone Achieves More.  They focused on the important role   PTA membership and involvement plays in the successfulness of their school district and their children.  They used a variety of methods to achieve their membership goals; visibility at school & PTA events, personal interaction and email to get the message out about their TEAM.

Their membership campaign activities included a Back to School Pool Blast, free Soboco Stickers to everyone who joined, Bring a Friend to PTA Night, building contests to increase teacher membership and played Trivia at membership meetings.

Southern Boone County PTA increased their business membership by 90% this year.  They contacted businesses personally and by mail.  They attended Chamber of Commerce meetings to discuss membership benefits and their goals for the year.

Representatives from the unit were unable to attend this year’s Leadership Conference because April 24 was the date of their Annual Family Carnival.  Their day started off with a community wide 5K run the town, carnival at 3:00 p.m. and a movie in the park at dusk.

Congratulations to Southern Boone County PTA on an outstanding membership campaign!
