Membership Awards 17-18

New for 2017-18 – A Membership Awards Form must be completed and submitted to the Missouri PTA office in order for a unit to be considered for any Membership Awards.  All awards will be announced/presented at the Missouri PTA Annual Convention in April.

Descriptions - Unit Membership Awards

Early Bird Award – First dues payment mailed by August 31st.

  • This award is designed to encourage units to get an early start on their membership drives and to promptly send the state and national portion of their dues to the state office.

Bronze Medal – 20% membership increase over previous year

  • Units may earn this award by achieving an increase of 20% or more in total memberships by March 1st over the previous year’s membership totals.

Silver Medal – 50% membership increase over previous year

  • Units may earn this award by achieving an increase of 50% or more in total memberships by March 1st over the previous year’s membership totals.

Gold Medal – 100% membership increase over previous year

  • Units may earn this award by achieving an increase of 100% or more in total memberships by March 1st over the previous year’s membership totals.

Honor Roll – Matched or increased membership over previous year by March 1st

  • To qualify for the Honor Roll, your unit needs to either meet or exceed your previous year’s membership number by March 1st. Once qualified, your unit will receive an Honor Roll achievement certificate. The Honor Roll will be published on the Missouri PTA website and in an issue of CONTACT magazine. *New units are not eligible and existing units must have turned in membership the prior year.

Platinum Award – Membership meets or exceeds total enrollment plus total staff.

  • 100% Enrollment.  Unit membership must equal or exceed the school’s total enrollment plus the total number of full time certified staff by March 1st.  For example, if the school enrollment is listed at 477 and the total number of full time certified staff is 23, the total paid memberships received in the state office by the deadline must be 500 or more.

President’s Award – Matched or increased membership over previous year by October 31st

  • Units may earn this award by matching or increasing total memberships by March 1st over the previous year’s membership totals and payment is mail by October 31st.

100% Faculty Award – All full time Certified Staff are paid members

  • A unit may qualify for this award by enrolling all Full Time Certified Staff assigned to its building as PTA members by March 1st.  Combined units must count the faculty for each school included within the unit.

Diamond Faculty Award – All full time Staff are paid members (including custodians, food services, etc)

  • A unit may qualify for this award by enrolling all Full Time Staff assigned to its building as PTA members by March 1st.  Include all support staff, custodians, food services, etc. Combined units must count the faculty for each school included within the unit.

Student Membership Award – 20% increase over previous year of student memberships

  • Units may earn this award by achieving an increase of 20% or more in total student memberships by March 1st over the previous year’s membership totals.

Business Partnership Award – 20% increase over previous year of business memberships

  • Units may earn this award by achieving an increase of 20% or more in total business memberships by March 1st over the previous year’s membership totals.

Descriptions - Council Membership Awards

Bronze Medal – All schools in district are active* PTAs/PTSAs.

  • Councils may earn this award by having an active PTA in all schools in the school district. This award is designed to encourage Councils to work toward having active PTAs in all of the schools in their district.

Silver Medal – 75% of units are in good standing by December 1st and are active*.

  • Councils may earn this award by having 75% of their units in good standing by the December 1st This award is designed to encourage Councils to create supportive relationships with their units.

Gold Medal – 100% of units are in good standing by December 1st and are active*.

  • Councils may earn this award by having 100% of their units in good standing by the December 1st This award is designed to encourage Councils to create supportive relationships with all of their units.

Platinum Medal – 10%-member increase, all units are in good standing by December 1st and are active*.

  • Councils may earn this award by having 100% of their units in good standing by the December 1st deadline and increasing the overall membership of their units by at least 10%. This award is designed to encourage Councils to create supportive relationships with their units and promote PTA membership.

*Active – units have 10 or more members, current bylaws, officers, and hold regular meetings.

-This form must be submitted by August 31st for awards based on membership of the previous school year.
-Dues must be paid during the previous school year.
-PTA/PTSA must be in good standing by August 31st.
